Have you ever been in a hopeless situation? Has it been so hopeless that you could see no way out? Many people feel that life is hopeless at times and too often people just give up. Acts 27 tells about the apostle Paul being on board a ship that was lost in a storm at sea. Verse 20 says, “all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.”
But Paul stood up before the others and said, “there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, whom I serve, saying fear not Paul.” Then in verse 25, Paul said, “and I believe God.” God was still in charge, and brought all the boat’s passengers safely to shore.
This story gives us assurance that even if our situation is hopeless, that God can change our situation. The sailors on Paul’s boat couldn’t see past the horizon but God could and he directed the boat to the best place. If you can’t see any hope in your life, remember that God can, and you can call on him and ask him to take charge of your hopeless situation.
