Editor, The Courier:
I, Jackson County Commissioner candidate James Milliken, will be removing my campaign signs due to the postponement of the primary election.
With everything going on in our county right now, I am sure people are tired of seeing campaign signs about an election that is over two months away. They have been subjected to signs since late last year.
Political experts will tell you that campaign signs are a necessary evil, that they really don’t enhance a campaign, but people expect to see them if you are running for office. I will be removing my signs and hope that other candidates will take my lead and give the Jackson County residents some visual relief from this primary election.
I will be putting my signs back out again sometime after Mother’s Day. I don’t want people to be mislead that I am not running, because that will be the rumor, I am still running for office and thank you for your support. If you have a sign in your yard, I will be returning in mid-May.
