Editor, The Courier:
The Girl Scouts of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Wellston were selected as the 2020 Bishop’s Parish. This honor is awarded each year to one parish in the Diocese of Columbus for the accomplishments of the parish’s Girl Scouts in promoting and demonstrating Catholic Scouting.
The girls were honored on January 31st at a special Scout Day Ceremony led by Bishop Robert Brennan on January 31st at the Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio. The troops represented in the Parish are Troop 8819 of Wellston and Troops 8764 and 9406 of Hamden.
The honor took into consideration involvement in their troop, service to their community, and service to the parish. Present to accept the award was Zella from Daisy troop 9406, and Neveah, Kyra, and Emilya from troop 8819, as well as Troop 8819 leader Catherine Glass.
Sincerely,
Catherine Glass
