Thoughts to ponder — A retired husband is a full-time job for a wife.

Another thought — You can be a good person with a kind heart and still say no. A lack of boundaries invite a lack of respect. You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm.

Another thought — The first Christmas after you lose someone is hard. You feel like not celebrating but you go along with it for the kids and family. It will hurt: the presents not bought, the chair not sat in, the memories of past Christmas that threaten to suck the joy out of your whole day. But, you will get through it. You may even raise a smile through the tears. Thank God for the Christmas you had them. Light a candle. Cry. Share a new tradition in their memory.
