The Spot on Main is getting a new coat of paint, as is the old donut shop they own on Harding.
Work is going on to tear down the old Michael’s Ice Cream building across from Sheriff’s Office. I have always been told it is the oldest building in the county. It also has “For Sale” signs on it. I saw a house with windows removed down by the old Williams Carry Out location, so I hope some houses are being demolished that are eye sores.

Congrats to Patti Morgan Hudson, daughter of my cousin Carey and Debbie Morgan, who has been named Director of Care Coordination at Adena Medical Center. Patti has been in the medical field for 28 years. She is a graduate of Oak Hill High School and attended Bloomfield Grade School.
Congrats to my neighbors, Stella Lemley and Frankie Belt, who were married Saturday!
Get well wishes to Mike McPeak who was in a terrible accident in Virginia. A semi hit his car on the driver side and he was seriously injured.

The JHS Class of 1961 was saddened to learn of the death of classmate Helen Lois Ross Ryan, who lived in Marietta, Oklahoma.

Mark your calendar for Oct. 20 from 1-4 p.m. at Bunn Cemetery on Gay Street across from Fantastic D beauty salon. Jackson Rotary and Lillian Jones Museum will join forces with a lot of helpers to do a living history tour of Bunn Cemetery. About ten people will be portraying early settlers that are buried there. A five dollar donation will be asked for to help with Rotary Scholarships.
Happy retirement to Johnny Ellenberger who retired from Mid City Laundromat after 45 years.
Happy retirement to Buzz Fisher who retired after 45 years as voice of the Oaks Football and Basketball. Keith Davis and I think Brian Howell are the new Voices. Both are Oak Hill grads.
Thoughts to ponder — Kids are like boats. They go in the right direction when paddled from the rear.
Another Thought — One way to find out if you are old is to fall down in front of a lot of people. If they laugh, you are still young. If they panic and starting running to you, you are old!
