Happy retirement to Dr. Doug Jones, who has served us for 35 years!
Happy retirement to Jane down at Lakeview Grocery and Sporting Goods. The store is closed.
Get well wishes to Nancy Baisden, who had minor surgery.
My brother Jake and wife Nikki just moved into another house. Some windows had window blinds and they left them on there. He had a picture of one of his sons who climbed up on some toys and wrapped the cord around his neck and then fell! His neck looked horrible! Lucky he didn’t hang himself! Blinds and chest of drawers are the most unsafe items in a child’s room, especially if the TV is on top the chest of drawers. These should be attached to the wall.
I talked to Roger and Jerry Boggess recently. Roger said wife Janet is in Piqua Manor Nursing Facility for therapy right now.
I was saddened to learn of the death of JHS Class of 1967 grad Wayne Harbarger, who passed away in Sacramento, California.
Byron Hutchinson stopped by to say he enjoyed the story in last week's column about Donald Long of Blackfork act of heroism. He brought a book by R.D. Null called "Bits and Pieces of Blackfork." I really enjoyed the pictures in it.
Thoughts to ponder — the most precious jewels you will ever have around your neck are the arms of your grand children!
Another thought — grieving is like having broken ribs. On the outside you look fine, but every breath you take hurts.
Another thought — one cannot and must not try to erase the past merely because it does not fit the present.
And one more — the media is blaming earth quakes on climate change-Everyone knows it is our founding fathers rolling in their graves.
