JACKSON — The 12th annual Amy Duggan Memorial Basketball Game and Auction is upcoming this Sunday.
The Jackson County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be hosting the event. The Trotters Basketball Team is inviting everyone to come out and support this year’s basketball game and auction.
The game will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Northview Elementary School in Jackson, with a tip-off time of 2:30 p.m. Doors will open at 2 p.m. There is a cost for admission.
There will be an auction at halftime. Some featured items include an autographed Ryan Day OSU helmet, an Archie Griffin autographed OSU football, a 2015 Joe Burrow Athens High School Rookie Card, and a 2019 Joe Burrow/Trevor Lawrence National Championship Card.
The memorial basketball game will be composed of the infamous Jackson County Trotters against local community members, known as The Playground Legends. The Trotters are 11-0 against The Legends.
The Amy Duggan Memorial Classic is a benefit basketball game and auction held in honor of Amy Duggan, who was a member of the Special Olympics basketball team who died of cancer in 2008.
Proceeds from the game and the auction benefit the Special Olympics and Hope Haven School, in addition to several student-based projects.
