For residents who are determined to save money and would like a little help with motivation and support, Ohio Saves is a helpful tool to consider.
Ohio Saves is part of America Saves, a research-based social marketing campaign aimed at motivating, encouraging, and supporting individuals and families to save money and build their wealth. Participants start the program by creating a savings plan and then entering their goal at www.ohiosaves.org. After enrolling, Ohio Saves supports participants by sending helpful savings tips and reminders about the savings goal. These helpful savings tips and reminders are emailed to the participant, but can also be sent via text message; a feature Ohio Saves is promoting in the month of October.
In October, Ohio Saves is providing an incentive for individuals who would like to start saving money by offering a chance to win one of five $50 prizes when they enroll in the program and opt-in to receive text messages from Ohio Saves. These prizes will be given to new participants to use to jump-start their savings goals.
Nancy Register, America Saves National Director says, “It’s a win-win situation. Five lucky people will win $50 to help them reach their savings goal and everyone will win by staying motivated to save.”
Whether the saving’s goal is big or small, Ohio Saves is here to support all Ohioans in their quest to save money and build wealth. With the incentive program starting Oct. 1, there is no better time to join the program and start saving! For more information about the program, and to sign up and enter your savings plan, visit www.ohiosaves.org.
OSU Extension offices throughout the state are partnering with Ohio Saves to bring helpful financial information to all Ohioans.
