JACKSON — A total of 32 graduates of the Jackson City School District were awarded scholarships from the Jackson City Schools Alumni and Friends Fund.

This year’s scholarship recipients include:

  • Josie Ball received the Janelle Wolfe Scholarship;
  • Becky Bergert received the Class of 1962 Scholarship;
  • Jacob Breyfogle received the Marcella May Award in Music;
  • Caitlin Camp received the Marcella Gates Scholarship;
  • Valerie Condit received the Cheryl Crosier Wilson Nursing Scholarship;
  • Nea Cook received the Robert Willis Memorial Scholarship;
  • Raquel Creamer received the Kathryn Loxley Memorial Scholarship;
  • Kylie Duncan received the George E. Ridgeway Youth Leadership Association Scholarship, the Marcella May Award in Music, and the Rachel Coyan Tripp Memorial Scholarship for Psychology;
  • Reid Evans received the Robert A. & Beverly Hunter Meng Scholar Athlete Scholarship, the Dwight W. Jones Family Memorial Scholarship, and the Robert Willis Memorial Scholarship;
  • Jordan Glassburn received the Helen M. and Vernon C. Everett Perpetual Memorial Scholarship;
  • Ally Hatfield received the W.S. Lofland Memorial Scholarship;
  • Brady Hobbs received the Roberta L. Grimes Commercial (Business) Award;
  • Danny Hong received the Dwight W. Jones Family Memorial Scholarship and the David Brooks Jones Scholarship;
  • Sydney Humphreys received the Dwight W. Jones Family Memorial Scholarship and the Emileigh Jo Cooper Memorial Scholarship;
  • Matt Humphreys received the Athletic Pepsi Scholarship;
  • Michael Israel received the Rom & Chris Jenkins Scholarship;
  • Kaitlyn Kight received the Brett Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship;
  • Sydnie Kilgour received the Bernard and Mary F. Brunton Memorial Scholarship;
  • Keelan Kilgour received the Carol M. Evans Memorial Scholarship and the Melissa Grimes Farely Memorial Scholarship;
  • Brody Landrum received the Dwight W. Jones Family Memorial Scholarship, the Larry Taylor Memorial Football Scholarship, and the Ridgeway Brothers’ Football Scholarship;
  • Zack McGowan received the Chris Bullion Memorial Scholarship;
  • Blake Mercer received the Earl & Ruth Lemaster Agriculture Scholarship;
  • Andrew Metzler received the Robert Willis Memorial Scholarship;
  • Emily Polcyn received the Jackson High School Class of 1952 Scholarship, the David Brooks Jones Scholarship, the JHS Drama Club Alumni Scholarship, and the Beth Woolum-Caudill Memorial Scholarship;
  • Emma Stroth received the Athletic Pepsi Scholarship and the Carl R. Wooten Family Memorial Scholarship;
  • Kendra Thompson received the Becky Wilcox Memorial Scholarship;
  • Gracie Walburn received the Dwight W. Jones Family Memorial Scholarship, the Robert Willis Memorial Scholarship, the Martha Walke Scholarship, and the Robert A. and Beverly Hunter Meng Scholar Athlete Scholarship;
  • Analee Warrens received the Helen M. and Vernon C. Evertt Perpetual Memorial Scholarship;
  • Haley Webb received the E. Sanford Kearns Fund for Science and Mathematics Scholarship;
  • Hunter West received the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Charitable Scholarship and the Robert Willis Memorial Scholarship;
  • Earl White received the Carol M. Evans Memorial Scholarship and the Becky Kight Memorial Math Scholarship; and
  • Emma Williams received the Robert Willis Memorial Scholarship and the Roberta L. Grimes Commercial (Business) Award.

The Jackson City Schools Alumni and Friends Fund joined the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) in 2018 as a Family of Funds designed to invest in the district’s students and give them the opportunity to succeed in every possible way. The Family of Funds includes over 50 funds that provide scholarships and grants to help aid young adults in their journey through education.
