NEW PLYMOUTH — The Vinton County Pilots & Boosters would like to announce there will be new and returning acts and planes at this year’s air show, which will be held, Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Vinton County Airport.
There will be four flying acts, the appearance of Santa, a candy drop and a motorcycle stunt act. The VCHS Band will open the Show and the McArthur Eagles, sponsors of the candy drop, will also be on hand preparing their famous BBQ Chicken dinners, which will be available beginning at 11 a.m.
Performers are: Emerson Stewart lll from Red Stewart Field, Waynesville, who will perform in his Citabria Aircraft; Brett Hunter, also from Red Stewart Field, who will thrill the crowd in his RV6 plane; Robert (TICO) Lecerda of Cincinnati, who will put his Pitts S2B stunt plane through its paces; Robert Richards of Downers Grove, Illinois, will participate for the first time in his Pitts Special; and The Screaming Chicken Sky Diving team will open and close the Show.
Please note that portions of Pumpkin Ridge Road and Airport Road will be closed from 1-4:30 p.m. Airport Road will be closed from Pumpkin Ridge Road to the terminal area during the Show and Pumpkin Ridge Road will be closed between Bethel Road and Airport Road. Access to the airport during these hours can be made via Route 328 to Airport Road, signs will be posted with directions.
