JACKSON — The Governor’s Office of Appalachia, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, hosted a recovery to work focus group meeting in Jackson County.
The meeting was held in late August at the Rio Grande Jackson Center with over 20 local leaders or stakeholders taking part.
There was a brief presentation on employment needs of individuals in recovery followed by a long discussion on the resources needed in Jackson County. Those present at the meeting came ready to brainstorm resources and solutions that could be used to support employers and Ohioans in recovery.
Also discussed at the meeting was the Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring (OSAM) Network. The network is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Since 1999, they have collected and analyzed new emerging drug trend or pattern data. OSAM publications can be found at mha.ohio.gov.
