MILTON TWP. — The construction of a bulk water station will soon begin in Milton Township.
The water station in Milton Township will be located on the back lot of The Detour gas station, located at 7575 OH-327.
The water station will provide residents clean water at an affordable price. The water will be supplied to the water station by the Jackson County Water Company. The project was funded through federal CDBG funds.
During the Jackson County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 20, Whitaker Wright, senior planner with CDC of Ohio, was present to open bid proposals for the water station project. Only two bids were submitted, and Wright said that they would be reviewed and a decision would be made at the next meeting.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, Jackson County Commissioner President Paul Haller announced that a bid was awarded to Lloyd Building Contractor. The estimated cost of this project was $78,000.
