The police departm
- ent was dispatched to Veterans Memorial Drive in reference to a domestic violence issue. An officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainants. The officer investigated the complaint and found that the suspect, Skylar Walton, 19 of Wellston, had fled the scene after allegedly forcing his way into the home and assaulting two persons, one of whom was holding a two-month-old child. The Wellston Police Department was contacted and Walton was located at his residence in Wellston. The McArthur Police Department took Walton into custody and transported him to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville on charges of aggravated burglary, domestic violence, assault and child endangering.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call of a disabled vehicle in the road at Route 50 and Veterans Memorial Drive in McArthur. A deputy and a canine officer responded. The vehicle was reportedly sitting sideways in the road. The driver, Tiffany Dawn Smith, 28, of McArthur, appeared to be under the influence and advised she did not have a valid driver license. The deputy deployed the canine, who reportedly indicated on the vehicle. A search was conducted on the vehicle. A substance law enforcement suspects to be methamphetamine, narcotic pills, marijuana, and paraphernalia were allegedly found. Smith was arrested without incident and taken to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule III pills, possession of drug abuse instruments, tampering with drugs a
- nd driving under OVI suspension.
- The Sheriff’s Office received information of a possible domestic violence that had occurred. A deputy met with the male victim, who stated that his live-in girlfriend, Kendra L. Hart, 54, of McArthur, had reportedly ripped his shirt off when he tried to leave the residence. The victim had cigarette burns and a laceration on his arm, along with scratches on his chest and back, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Hart was arrested and taken to Southeastern Ohio Regional
Jail on charges of domestic violence.
