OAK HILL — David A. Ward has been sworn in by Oak Hill Mayor Rob Leonard as an Oak Hill Village Council member for the unexpired term of the late Tim McCoy.

McCoy, according to his obituary, passed away on Saturday, May 25, at his home at the age of 68.

(Councilman Ward and Oak Hill Police Chief David Ward are two different people.)

The unexpired term filled by Councilman Ward ends this year. If Ward wants to retain his seat, he will have to run for election in November.

The unexpired term is one of the three seats up for election for four-year terms. The seat held by Jennifer Hughes, who was appointed to fill the seat vacated by John Love, will also be on the ballot, along with the seat held by Tara Cooper.
