JACKSON — The Jackson bats woke up against Chillicothe on Wednesday, as the Ironmen defeated their Frontier Athletic Conference foes, 8-4.
Brice Graham earned the victory and drove in a run himself to lead the Ironmen. Caleb Haller, Isaac Kuhn and Landon Erwin each recorded a pair of hits, part of a 10-hit barrage from the Ironmen on the evening.
Graham doubled home a run in the first inning and scored on Ty Ruckel's groundout to give Jackson an early 2-0 lead. Jackson would extend the lead on back-to-back RBI singles from Holden Blankenship in Kuhn in the fourth inning.
Chillicothe plated a run in the fourth and added two more an inning later to make the score 4-3.
Jackson put Chillicothe away for good in the fifth inning. Haller singled home two runs. Erwin's fly ball to right field was dropped, leading to two more runs.
Graham went six innings for Chillicothe, surrendering three runs on six hits and striking out five. Logan Massie pitched a scoreless seventh inning to close out the game, striking out two.
With the win, Jackson moved back over the .500 mark. The Ironmen improved to 11-10 overall and 3-6 in FAC play.
