MINFORD — The Oak Hill track and field teams’ regular seasons concluded at the Southern Ohio Conference meet, held May 7 and 9 at Minford High School.
The Lady Oaks finished eighth out of 12 schools, with the Oaks placing 10th.
The girls team accumulated 20 points on the two days of competition, despite sending just six athletes to the conference meet. That was enough to place in six different events, from distance races to a hurdles race and even the high jump.
Macy Mullett was the top point-getter for the Lady Oaks. She turned in the school’s top league performance, placing third in the 3200-meter run in a time of 13 minutes, 35 seconds. She also placed fifth in the mile (6:13) and ninth in the 800-meter run (2:50).
Peyton Miller had another solid meet, earning points in three events. The junior placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.1 seconds), sixth in the 800-meter run (2:46) and seventh in the high jump (4 feet, 6 inches).
Lastly for the Lady Oaks, the 4x800 meter relay team of Skyi Rawlins, Ava Lowes, Alex Johnson and Cheyann Evans placed seventh in a time of 13 minutes, 15 seconds.
Colin Hughes had the top finish for the Oaks. He placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 42.51 seconds. Other point-getters included Michael Caldwell in the sprinting events (fifth, 200-meter dash; sixth, 100-meter dash) and the 4x100 meter relay team of Cameron Kerns, Hughes, Luke Stewart and Caldwell, which finished eighth.
Oak Hill next competes at the district meet. The boys team travels to Meigs High School for districts on May 14 and returns for event finals on May 18.
The girls team travels to Southeastern High School for districts on May 15 and returns for event finals on May 18.
From there, the girls’ regionals is held May 22 and 24 at Fairfield Union High School and the boys’ regionals is held May 23 and 25 at Muskingum College.
