JACKSON — Alexander enjoyed a big lead before its defense even took the field on Tuesday.

Alexander scored in each of the first four innings, leading to a 13-0 softball win at Jackson.

The Spartans started the game by scoring seven runs in the top of the first and never looked back.

Alexander had six hits in the inning, including Margo Roof’s two-run home run to center field.

The Spartans added a run in the second, and two more in the third to lead 10-0. They added on three more runs in the top of the fourth for a 13-run advantage.

Gracie Hill limited any potential Jackson rallies with her performance inside the pitching circle. She pitched a five-inning shutout, holding the Ironladies to five hits. She didn’t walk a batter and Alexander didn’t commit an error in the field.

Halie Miller had three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs. Erin Scurlock finished with three hits, including an RBI. Audrey Ross had two hits, including a double and five RBIs. Brooke Casto and Jadyn Mace each had two hits and an RBI. Hill finished with two hits.

Alexander had 15 hits in the victory.

Sydney Humphreys and Mackenzie Humphreys each pitched for Jackson, with Sydney Humphreys taking the loss.

Sydney Humphreys and Katelyn Newkirk each had two hits for the Ironladies.
