Wellston Baseball 2019

WELLSTON — The Rockets’ bats went cold against Meigs, losing a league contest to the Marauders on Friday, April 5, 4-1.

Meigs scored three runs in the top of the first and stayed ahead the entire game. Wellston added a lone run in the fourth inning on a Meigs error, but recorded just four hits in the contest.

Jeremiah Frisby had two of them. Brock Eggers had a double and Hunter Cardwell recorded a single and scored the run.

Zane Ervin threw a quality game for Wellston, pitching five innings and giving up just two earned runs. He struck out one, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Timothy Stanley pitched the final two innings, surrendering one earned run and striking out two.

The loss was Wellston’s first in league play this season.
