JACKSON — A two-vehicle crash on Route 35 early in the morning of Thursday, Dec. 6 left one driver from Lawrence County dead.

The crash occurred in Jackson County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Jackson Post reported.

Aaron Clement, 34, of Kitts Hill, was driving a 2003 Honda Civic westbound on the highway when it reportedly collided with a 2017 Freightliner semi-trailer being driven by Tyler Addair, 26, of Kyle, West Virginia, according to a news release.

Addair was turning left from Jackson Twp. Road 213 (Cain) onto Route 35 but “failed to yield,” the Patrol reported.

Clement was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office. Addair was not injured.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, Coalton Fire Department and Jackson County EMS also responded to the scene. Route 35 was closed for two hours while responders attended to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
