JACKSON — Katrina Marie Lawhead, 26, of Wellston, has been found alive, after being reported as missing for over two months.
Lawhead was located by Jackson Police on Saturday, July 6, at 7:48 a.m. at Mike’s One Stop in Jackson.
She reportedly told authorities that she had gotten off a GoBus, which makes a stop at that gas station. Jackson Police had stopped to check on the aforementioned woman, only to discover that it was Lawhead. Reportedly, she was found sitting surrounded by bags.
An officer with Jackson Police then transported Lawhead to Wellston because that was the agency that entered her as missing. Authorities had been actively looking for Lawhead since April 30, when she last contacted her family.
A spokesperson with the Wellston Police Department told The Courier on Monday, July 8, that Lawhead had no idea that she was even labeled as “missing.”
Lawhead allegedly told authorities have she had lost her phone and did not have access to social media. She also explained that she had been traveling the last two months, spending some time in Tennessee and Virginia Beach.
