OAK HILL — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that happened last week.
The crash reportedly occurred on Route 279 near mile post 14. Dead is Joseph M. Boggs, 40, of Oak Hill.
At approximately 10:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified of a single vehicle crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s report, Boggs was traveling westbound on Route 279 in a 2011 Ford F-150. His vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a ditch, fence and a culvert. The vehicle struck a utility pole before overturning and coming to rest on its right side.
The Patrol reported that Boggs was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.
Agencies on scene included the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Investigative Unit, Ohio Department of Transportation, Madison-Jefferson Fire Department and Jackson County EMS.
The crash remains under investigation.
