A Bidwell woman died from injuries sustained in an ATV crash near Oak Hill, the State Highway Patrol has reported.
The crash took place Saturday, June 8 at around 8 p.m. on Franklin Valley Road.
Dead is passenger Karlee Didelotte, 18; the operator was identified as Jordan Bell, 17, of Oak Hill, who was injured in the crash.
According to a Patrol report, Bell was driving a 2008 Honda ATV southbound on Franklin Valley Road when the vehicle went off the roadway, up an embankment and overturned. The two were thrown from the ATV, the report continues.
Didelotte was flown by medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
“The Patrol was later notified that Didelotte had succumbed to her injuries,” the report states.
Bell was transported by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Hospital in Jackson for precautionary reasons, then was flown by medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Other responding agencies included the Madison-Jefferson Fire Department, Oak Hill Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
